Dear HA Holiday Exchange writer,

I'm so excited that you got me as your assignment. Please find below a list of things I like and a short(er) list of DNWs to help you plot your holiday fic <3



1. Lewis Nixon/Richard Winters

What I really like:

First meetings, Pre-war/pre-canon times (OCS fic but also any deviations from historical canon), any fic focusing on training, adjusting to military life, becoming friends, friends to lovers, absolutely any take on first times, slow burns, angst with a happy end or at least with a glimmer of hope, post-war of any kind/setting (also deviating from historical canon), something involving the families and especially the sisters, fics where Nix's drinking has a real impact on the relationship, fics where Dick's religion has a real impact on the relationship, graphic sex of pretty much any kind (I have a preference for ratings mature and higher, but it 100% depends on waht the story calls for and I'm absolutely happy with low ratings too), what ifs/deviations from the series canon that take the boys to new and strange places (e.g. different outcomes for the bullet scene, the ricochet scene, the 30-day tour, etc etc).


DNWs:

Unrequited/one-sided love (unless it *looks* one-sided but really isn't), super detailed kink fics not supported by a plot (but yay kinky sex with a plot!), hopeless angst of hopelessness (bittersweet is fine!), major character death any time before the age of let's say 70 (they can die together in their bed when they're older or something), any unjustified (in the story) bashing of female characters including and especially Kathy Nixon.



2. Blanche Nixon/Ann Winters

This pairing is so small that I would love to read pretty much anything about them, and especially anyone's take on how they meet and how they fall in love. Post-war is the perfect (only?) setting. If Ann has a farm, rural romance would be lovely; if Blanche has a drinking problem, I want to know how they deal with it. Background Winnix mandatory a plus. Friendship or pre-slash also very much an option.

3. Donald Malarkey/Joe Toye

Anything? Everything? It's a small pairing and I'm really curious about it. In canon I'd love to see a slow burn romance (but given the characters I would totally buy something that starts with a very impulsive one-night stand instead). I'm also very interested in Joe's post-war life minus a leg and the ableism that he inevitably would have to deal with (in and out of a relationship). If they meet again/reconnect, how? If they stayed in touch, how did that work? Do they stand a chance? (Yes, they do)
